Job Description

Group DescriptionThe Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.Recognized globally as an innovator in all aspects of vehicle exteriors, Magna provides everything needed, from materials development and design through manufacturing and assembly, to help automakers create sleek, state-of-the-art vehicles across the world.Role SummaryThe Project Coordinator actively participates in company Business Planning, Capital Budget Planning, Health and Safety and cost reduction activitiesKey Responsibilities

  • Contributor in reducing overall Machining area safety metrics
  • Contributing member of the Tycos Energy Team
  • Manage Building Insurance documents and requirements
  • Implement and maintain process for specific machine hour bookings
  • Manage the development of outsourcing process: i.e. placement of work, process, costing of work outsourced, Bill Backs and management of suppliers
  • Oversee the installation of new equipment
  • Establish, review and audit training plans for team members; Ensure training plan for department meets team objectives and incorporates training required for new technology
  • Participate and provide expertise in the selection and purchase of major new equipment and machines and facilitate machine/equipment purchases
  • Machine/Equipment Utilization:
    • Analyze downtime on all equipment and develop improvement metrics and action plans to achieve improvement; Present actions and metrics at a monthly utilization meeting
    • Incorporate Preventative Maintenance (PM) into shop scheduling system
  • Cost Reduction and Capital Activities:
    • Participate in Business Plan and Tycos Capital Plan development
    • Investigate, recommend, justify and document Capital Expenditures per Business Plan
    • Develop maintenance expense and Capex budgets for Business Plan each year and track to budget
    • Involvement in Capital Projects from complete project management to assisting in project development
    • Develop templates and WIN’s for managing Capital
  • Implement Total Production Management (TPM)
  • Perform Layered Audits
  • Audit CI submissions and ensure that submitted ideas are addressed in a timely manner
  • Adhere to applicable quality systems and Support the total Tycos Management System (MAFACT, WCM, ISO-9001)
  • Participate in and support Continuous Improvement and WCM initiatives
Key Qualifications/RequirementsEducation:
  • Degree in engineering, technical field, or trade, a must
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years production experience in an automotive manufacturing industry
