We have been providing support services for over 30 years and have grown to 5 Day Programs, 22 Residences, as well as Respite and Supported Independent Living services in multiple locations in the GTA. We tailor all programming to respect and meet the individual needs of people with developmental disabilities, persons with dual diagnoses, and individuals with multiple disabilities. We are committed to creating environments where ALL individuals can be supported to reach their greatest potential.Meta offers a wide spectrum of services and personalized supports to help people live in inclusive engaged and enriched lives in the community.Position: Relief Employee (Union Position) (3 Positions for Vaughan) (2 Positions for Richmond Hill)Rate of Pay: $18.74/hourCurrent Location: Kipling Avenue (Woodbridge), West Pearce Street (Richmond Hill)Hours and Days of WorkMust be able to work Day, Evening, and Overnight shifts on weekdays and weekendsQualifications

  • Diploma or degree program in a related field
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals that have developmental disabilities
  • Must have experience dealing with challenging behaviors because of the possibility of working with aggressive clients
  • Must have a valid G driver’s license
  • Strong written and oral communication as well as problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to work as a team and independently
  • French language is an asset
Job Duties
  • Please note the Vaughan Positions will also require availability to go to group home locations
  • To work hands-on with individuals that have developmental disabilities in a day program environment
  • Responsible for liaison with other professionals and families
  • responsible for paperwork, attending meetings, and other related duties
  • Responsible for implementing curriculum and providing personal health care
  • Responsible for transporting clients in company vans to outings and to/from programs
  • Provide support in daily living as needed
