Its core business is to work collaboratively with community partners to deliver citizen-centered programs and services that improve quality of life for Albertans. The ministry deals with topics that vary widely and addresses many of the issues people face across their life span.The Government of Alberta offers premium pay options to assist in attracting, retaining qualified valued employees in Northern Alberta.These programs are comprised of non-pensionable allowances tailored uniquely to employees whose work sites fall within specific geographic areas in Northern Alberta.Retention Allowance:Employees with work sites located between the 55th and up to and including the 57th parallel are eligible to receive an annual retention bonus of $6,000.00, less all lawful deductions. The payment will be made in 2 installments per year on the cheques for the bi-weekly pay periods that include March 31 and September 30.Eligible locations: Slave Lake, Grande Prairie, Peace River and High PrairieFort McMurray Attraction Bonus:Employees with work sites in the Municipality of Wood Buffalo are eligible to receive a one-time attraction bonus that is equivalent to 25% of base pay (bi-weekly pay X 26.1 X 25%) upon commencement, less all lawful deductions. The attraction bonus is paid on a quarterly basis over the first year of employment.Employees will also receive the Northern Allowance of $241.38 for each bi-weekly pay period served.Positions Above the 57th parallel:Employees are eligible to receive a one-time attraction bonus that is equivalent to 25% of base pay (bi-weekly pay X 26.1 X 25%) upon commencement, less all lawful deductions. The attraction bonus is paid on a quarterly basis over the first year of employment.Employees will also receive the Northern Allowance of $241.38 for each bi-weekly pay period served.Permanent and Temporary Employees who are employed and reside in locations north of the 57th parallel are eligible for up to two (2) Employer paid return trips from their home location to Calgary (or an alternate urban location between their location and Calgary/Edmonton). Reimbursement and payment of costs shall be treated as a taxable benefit.RoleThis position will provide support to the Regional Leadership Team in areas of ARTS, change management, internal and external communications, issue management, business planning, events and coordination of activities. Reporting to an Associate Director within the region, this manager provides a range of services using their diverse skills to support the delivery of high quality services to Albertans, in the North Region. The Manager also has a leadership role in the regional transformation and will participate at a provincial level, to ensure the alignment of services with Ministry requirements.This position acts as a consultant, bringing knowledge and expertise to the Regional Leadership team and region providing guidance through the implementation of a change management framework across the service delivery workforce, with community stakeholders, agency partners, and Ministry partners.The Manager builds solid working relationships as he/she represents the region on various committees at a local and provincial level and has contact with the local community.You will also demonstrate strong leadership by supporting staff through coaching and mentorship to reach their full potential. You will also be a part of the Communication Managers team provincially that works closely with the Issues/Communications managers in Ministers Office, DM Office and ADM Office. They will demonstrate leadership through responses to general inquiries from the public, highly sensitive and/or complex issues and communicate effectively within tight timelines. Ensures that issues management regarding concerns to the Minister are managed effectively and efficiently.Success in the position is dependent on relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, providing strategic process leadership and effective communication.It is important that this position is proactively informed, organized, knowledgeable and up-to-date on department issues and priorities.The successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, as well as the ability to build effective relationships with others. Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities with timely completion while leading a team of professionals, is necessary in this role.QualificationsA university degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Business Administration, Public Administration or Human Resources plus a minimum of four years of supervisory and progressively responsible related experience, is required. Equivalencies may be considered.Equivalencies to be considered: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; OR 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.Assets:

Salary$3,062.51 to $4,121.25 bi-weekly ($79,625 to $107,152 / year)NotesThe hours of work are Monday to Friday - 36.25 hours per week. The candidate must be willing to travel within the North Region as necessary.Role Requirements:
