Reason for Post :Undetermined replacementPosition Status :Temporary- Full timeWork Shifts :DayOrganization :CIUSSS de lOuest-de-l’Île-de-MontréalJob Territory :VerdunDivision :Academic Affairs, Teaching and Research DirectorateService :Reference number :CAT4-22-5688Number of days :Length of Assignment :Work Schedule :Salary :Number of positions available :1Job Category :Service planning, program evaluation, quality and performance (APPR)Posting Start Date :2022-02-01Posting End Date :2022-02-28Description :The Montréal West Island IUHSSC is looking for a Project Manager to fill a temporary full-time position within the Directorate of Academic Affairs, Teachings and Research (DAUER) at the Douglas Institute, as part of their mission to promote and enhance the academic culture and university teaching activities for the entire IUHSSC.As a Project Officer, you will be responsible for one or more programs in order to provide professional assistance to the development of services. You will conduct research activities necessary to identify and assess resources and needs. You will design and propose development plans to ensure proper planning of services and provide advice on their implementation and improvement. You will be invited to participate in various medical education activities.Under the supervision of the Head of University Teaching, you will provide professional assistance in the realization of the various mandates related to the teaching mission as well as the coordination and development of the medical and non-medical university internship offer within the IUHSSC.You will work in close collaboration with the various departments of the institution as well as with our external collaborators, notably the faculties of medicine and health of partner universities.In the course of his/her duties, the Project Manager:

  • Collaborates with academic partners and managers in planning and organizing including the development of policies, procedures, forms and databases related to the medical and academic education area;
  • Develops and implements management and evaluation mechanisms that promote the achievement of departmental objectives and the maintenance of effective interactions between the various individuals involved in the management of internships;
  • Proposes processes and methods to develop the internship offer and a stimulating academic environment;
  • Assists departments of medicine in the coordination of medical clerkships as needed;
  • Develops information and promotional tools for university teaching and the role of clerkship supervisor for the various clinical and administrative departments;
  • Provides support to the various supervisors and managers involved in the management of clerkships and assists clerkship sponsors, managers and teams in implementing changes;
  • Implements new internship management practices with the clinical departments and the Human Resources and Legal Affairs Department;
  • Collaborates in the continuous improvement process by participating in the development, planning, organization and control of processes at the base of the university teaching service;
  • Produces reports on achievements and status, sets p quality indicators, ensures analysis and follow-up and recommends adjustments or improvements, if necessary;
  • Contributes, through its analyses and recommendations, to change management, problem solving and the continuous improvement of activities and services that are part of the teaching and university mission of the IUHSSC.

  • Choice of home base: St. Marys Hospital Center or Douglas Hospital;
  • Four (4) weeks vacation after one year of full-time employment;
  • Thirteen (13) statutory vacations and 9.6 sick days for one year of full-time employment;
  • Five (5) additional floating vacations for work in a designated psychiatric setting, if the home base is the Douglas Hospital;

Requirements :Required Availability:
  • 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday;
  • Flexible work schedule: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or 9:00 am to 5:00 pm;
  • Possibility of working remotely.
Desired candidate:
  • Possesses a Bachelors degree in Humanities or Social Sciences, Health Sciences or other relevant discipline;
  • Has a graduate degree in a sector relevant to the health network, an asset;
  • Has knowledge of the health and social services network;
  • Knowledge of the health and social services network; Knowledge of the university environment and its teaching structures, an asset;
  • Has experience in planning, programming and developing teaching activities;
  • Demonstrates proficiency in French and English, both oral and written;
  • Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel intermediate-advanced);
  • Is open to travel to different MWI IUHSSC facilities as needed and as collaborations occur.
