AHS has a leadership opportunity for a Working Leader in our Linen & Environmental Services (LES) department. This department is a patient and customer-service focused department and is responsible for the cleaning, laundry, and waste management functions at AHS’ sites. The role of Working Leader, LES is responsible for providing front-line supervision and organization for the day-to-day LES activities, ensuring departmental compliance with standards and all WH&S guidelines. As the Working Leader, you are responsible for meeting daily site goals and operational deadlines are met. You perform quality assurance checks and provide training, direction, and support to LES staff. Utilizing your customer-service and communication skills, you ensure complaints, concerns, and equipment repair requests are completed in a timely, efficient manner. Ongoing collaboration with on and offsite staff is required, as is monitoring all LES supply/inventory levels, completion of staff timesheets, scheduling, and inputting data for payroll. Environmental Service Workers are the first line of defense against infection who play a critical role in patient safety by providing a safe place to receive care and heal. The quality of their work is critical because proper cleaning and disinfection can prevent the spread of pathogens to healthcare workers, patients, and visitors.Description:As a Working Leader - Environmental, you will be responsible for monitoring and directing the day-to-day workload of the Environmental Services department and ensuring maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies. Your typical duties as the Environmental Working Leader may include developing and maintaining staff schedules; assigning and checking work of the Environmental Services department; assisting with equipment breakdown investigations and providing recommendations for repairs; and coordinating quality assurance functions. You will ensure quality and performance of cleaning tasks in accordance with AHS standards and practices.
