Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Technical Editor to join our team in Vernon or Vancouver.Critical skills for this role are effective time management, attention to detail, collaboration, leadership, decisiveness and the ability to convey technical material in a concise and scientific manner. You can prioritize multiple tasks to deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment. You adapt well to change and apply your good judgement to improve systems and process. Helping others develop their skills and contributing to the success of a team is important to you. This position will also provide you with autonomy as you will be required to complete tasks with minimal supervision.What you will be doing:

  • Completing editorial reviews of written deliverables for clients and marketing materials (e.g. proposals).
  • Coordinating consistent writing style, format, and presentation across a range of written products.
  • Providing technical writing advice to authors of project and proposal documents.
  • Assisting with and coordinating proposal preparation and other business development activities.
  • Leading technical and editorial staff in technical writing, including authoring guidance documents and preparing resources.
Job Requirements:What you will bring:
  • An undergraduate degree in environmental sciences or related field.
  • 5+ years of technical editorial experience, preferably in environmental consulting and/or involving regulatory reports
  • Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Word, Excel and other office software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and schedules
  • Prior experience with marketing/business development activities is an asset
  • Professional registration (e.g. P.Ag., P.Bio., R.P.Bio.,P.Geo, RPF) or eligibility to be registered is an asset.
