Job Description

GFL Environmental is looking for a CRD Operations Supervisor to join our team in Victoria, British Columbia!This is for an upcoming contract starting January 2024, the CRD Operations Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations, and supervision of the blue box collection division, a go between for staff and management.

  • Driver liaison, first contact for drivers to address their concernsamp; attempt resolution
  • Assist in the Professional development of existing staff
  • OBA #39;s on department drivers
  • Host safety meetings and toolbox talks on a weekly basis
  • Review and sign off of Agile hours, and bi-weekly payroll sign off for division
  • Create, oversee and maintain efficient, fair, and effective routing
  • Support the implementation of safety procedures and initiatives
  • Support and continue to build positive safety and work environment
  • Assist Operations Manager in the recruitment process
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees if required
  • Mentoring and Training of new employees
  • Immediately report any unsafe situations or service-related issues to Manager, Maintenance, or Safety
  • Complete SEMS reporting for all incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
  • Communicates with Dispatch to resolve any customer or driver inquiries or issues
  • Operates vehicle in safe and efficient manner
  • Performs site inspections when required to assist with site issues or routing inquiries
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspection
  • Provides vacation coverage when required
  • Shop liaison for maintenance requirements for CRD collection fleet
  • Follows route assignments as directed - completes all necessary paperwork
  • Excellent customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness
  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner
  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth, follow, and promote Company #39;s safety standards
  • Performs all duties as scheduled and assist other drivers as directed to ensure contract needs are met
Requirements
  • Experience 1 year of previous experience operating a commercial vehicle
  • Current Class 3 Commercial Driver #39;s License
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and motor vehicle record view
