Hybrid Work ModelThis position is located in our Victoria, BC office. You will have the opportunity to work part of the time on-campus and part of the time off-campus. Guidelines and requirements for in-office presence are determined by operational need and vary according to the unique needs of each business area. The opportunityWe are seeking a Creative Services Consultant to join our team in VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada. As a Creative Services Consultant, you will report to the Manager, Creative Portfolio. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the Corporation #39;s creative strategies and projects. You will leverage your professional leadership and expertise to independently design, deliver, and manage both in-house and contracted creative services. Your work will support the corporation #39;s and plan boards #39; business outcomes, encompassing strategy, design, brand identity, and various media including videography, photography, and print materials.As a senior creative, you will have the opportunity to exercise your design skills and knowledge through varied creative and brand challenges. You will work closely with various stakeholders across the organization, including assistant directors, directors, executives and contract managers. Your role will involve understanding client needs, designing effective creative strategies and campaigns, and ensuring the successful delivery of creative services both corporately and with plan boards. You will be a conduit between clients and creative services, managing relationships and ensuring the delivery of professional and effective creative solutions. Our ideal candidate is both a strategist and a tactician - as comfortable developing a creative brief as they are fulfilling it. What do you need to succeedMust have
  • Degree or diploma in related field (graphic design, visual communications). An equivalent combination of recent related education, training and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of five years of recent and relevant experience (i.e. within the last seven years) in a graphic design and/or art direction role(s).
  • Experience must include the following:
    • A minimum of 3 years working in-house creative roles in a corporate or public sector environment.
    • Progressive experience in graphic design, art direction and creative oversight of peers.
    • A minimum of 2 years leading print, digital, and photo and video production carried out by others, including contractors.
    • Delivering complex, multi-stakeholder creative projects in collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams.
    • Planning, coordinating, and producing high-quality design deliverables from initial concept to completion.
    • Providing creative and communication advice and recommendations to clients, stakeholders and senior leaders.
    • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (including Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop).
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint; working proficiency in Excel.
    • Experience leading project intake and workflow for multiple users; providing production management.
    • A minimum of 3 years of experience creating, managing and supporting web, intranets and/or digital workspaces.
Nice to have
  • Experience supervising employees is preferred
  • Experience with motion graphics (e.g. Vyond, Adobe AfterEffects) is preferred.
  • Experience in SharePoint work environments is preferred.
