Job Description

Start cooking up an exciting career and be a key team member in our new kitchen at Elements Casino Victoria. We’re on the lookout for a creative and passionate 3rd Cook to join our team! Jump on the line in one of our kitchens to create culinary fare for guests. You’ll be responsible for the preparation of food items while adhering to safety, hygiene policies and procedures. The culinary management team believes in an open-door policy, where all ideas and suggestions are welcome, in the continual quest for culinary excellence. Sound interesting Then Get in the Game. It’s All You…DUTIESamp; RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists culinary team with cooking and prepping
  • Knowledge of all culinary aspects
  • Cleaning and organizing of all related work equipment and areas
  • Preparation and stocking for daily operation
  • Butchering of meats and poultry
  • Basic soup and sauce preparation
  • Basic dessert preparation
  • Able to cut, slice, chop and peel vegetables and fruits
  • Restocking, cleaning and organizing all related work equipment and areas
  • Prepare food to quality and presentation standards, Ensuring all guidelines and recipes are met
  • Positive and professional interaction between co-workers
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Any other duties as assigned or directed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Able to read, understand and follow recipes
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a high volume restaurant(s) and banquet experience
  • Valid Food Safe Certificate (Levels 1)
  • Must be willing to undergo and pass a criminal record check
  • Outgoing, professional, customer driven individual with strong people skills
  • Must be a team player who works well with others with ability to work unsupervised
  • Good organizational skills
  • Dependable and reliable with a demonstrated commitment to service excellence
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, nights and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
