About the jobWaterworth is a Software-as-a-Service for financial forecasting. We are hiring junior and intermediate Financial Analysts to join our Customer Success (CS) team to help take our clients to success. The ideal candidate for this role is confident with numbers and accounting, enjoys the prospect of using data to tell compelling stories, and has demonstrated abilities to develop productive professional relationships.The Roleamp; Responsibilities • Strategic Advising: Our goal is to ensure the communities we work with are on a path being financially sustainable. There are often a variety of paths to achieving this goal with various roadblocks in the way. A large part of this role is to work with City Managers, Public Works Directors and CFOs to mutually establish what the journey looks like for their community and drive action to achieve these goals. • Relationship Management: To establish and stay on track with the strategic vision, our clients must enjoy meeting with you, building both respect and trust in you. You would develop these relationships over multiple years, aiming to expand the depth and breadth of relationships with the senior city officials. • Model Building: your work would involve building, calibrating and presenting financial models to our customers. This requires you to be confident in your accounting fundamentals and your ability to work with data (attention to detail), spot discrepancies in the model (pattern recognition) and be a confident speaker (presentation skills). • Maximize Customer Value: You must genuinely care about customer experience and work diligently to exceed their expectations. Whether it’s how an email is worded, how a model is presented, how we plan our week’s work; we must always have clients’ perceptions and needs at top of mind to ensure we deliver them maximal value. Training The Training Program covers the domains of municipal government and utilities, financial management, software and Customer Success. Each of these would require developing different skills, and a commitment to pull everything together to be able to execute. You would be open to the occasional prompt online response outside of these hours, and some in-person customer meetings. Who You Are 1. Accounting Expertise: you have studied and practiced financial accounting and financial modelling and would like to leverage that into actionable results following deep immersion in diverse customer realities. 2. Confident Presentation Skills: you will engage with the senior most employees in government and must inspire trust and respect which means exuding confidence stemming from expertise and comfort in our tool. 3. Selling Skills: as the primary relationship custodian, you will need to passionately articulate how we as a business go about solving the problems associated with a community’s efforts to be financially sustainable. This will not only allow you to be effective by staying consistent with what their experience with us has been in the past but will also aid in further leveraging the relationships we have into new ways of delivering value. 4. Analytical Capacity: you must be willing to develop your analytical abilities so you can enjoy working with and telling stories using numbers, spreadsheets, business and financial concepts and software. 5.
