Job DescriptionManager, Tea at The Fairmont EmpressThis position will oversee the operation of our 150 seat Lobby Lounge, home of our world famous “Tea at the Empress”, and the newly launched Sunset Sips experience. Your leadership ability infused with your passion for all things F amp;B will lead you to provide the highest quality service, bringing the overall concept to life and placing our new restaurants and lounges on the map as the “Hottest Places in Town”.What is in it for you:

What you will be doing:
  • Working closely with the Director of Restaurants and Bars at Fairmont Empress to execute the smooth and flawless operation of both the Front and Heart of House (inclusive of restaurant and kitchen)
  • Ensuring optimal performance by being a presence on the floor to support and lead the team to deliver service excellence
  • Drive revenue and profit through the development and implementation of strategies, practices and promotions while in keeping with the overall concept
  • Handle guest concerns and react quickly and professionally
  • To assist in the recruitment and training of F amp;B Colleagues
  • Balance operational, administrative and Colleague needs
  • Conduct regularly scheduled departmental meetings
  • Maximize revenues by communicating regularly with the Food and Beverage teams to implement agreed upon strategies, practices and promotions
  • Have full knowledge of all Outlet menus
  • Manage the departmental budget
  • Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
  • Managing blocking and reservations in the SevenRooms booking system to support revenue maximization and guest experience in Afternoon Tea and Sunset sips
  • Manage groups’ bookings for Sunset sips and Afternoon Tea experience.
  • Manage reservations for tour reservations and contract with region and location teams
  • Performance management of colleagues including progressive corrective action
