We serve local, national and international clients in North America and the Caribbean, from our manufacturing facilities in beautiful Victoria, BC.*About the role:*Do you have a desire to improve processes and bring about changeYour work will take place where the manufacturing work happens, working with the shop staff to create and track metrics that help them see value in their work.You recognize that people are at the heart of our manufacturing system, and you will help lead, coach, and guide staff to recognize inefficient processes, and reduce overall waste.You will use LEAN ideologies to help create and document reliable manufacturing processes that ensure quality and efficiency, and are followed by all.You will be an important part of what we do every day!*What will you do:*Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, you will become a subject matter expert in our departmental processes.You will help to:* Implement and maintain manufacturing documentation: manufacturing process instructions, work instructions, process flow diagrams, and procedures.* Lead and coordinate improvement events with staff, in a collaborative and positive manner.* Apply advanced design techniques to develop, maintain, and improved product assemblies.* Be an educator of Lean ideologies and tools.* Implement knowledge of manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and productivity, including improving work cell layout, and manufacturing process activities.* Develop, create, and maintain Quality Systems that are embedded into the manufacturing process.*What will you need to succeed:** Completion of Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma, Mechanical Engineering Degree, or a combination or education and experience* Minimum 3 years of work experience in a related capacity* Demonstrated problem solving skills and attention to detail* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a small team setting* Demonstrated experience in product design and prototyping; experience in design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA)* Advanced skills in Excel* Intermediate skills in 2D and 3D CAD systems (AutoCAD, Fusion 360, Alibre)* Demonstrated experience in production scheduling* Confident in light hands-on fabrication work* Knowledge or experience in steel frame construction and drywall installation is an asset* Understanding of LEAN manufacturing, culture and tools* Demonstrated ability to document processes and procedures* Able to manage multiple projects/ priorities at a time and meet deadlines* Demonstrated professional communication skills in liaising with various departments and outside vendors.* Able to keep detailed and comprehensive files and records related to accountabilities.* ERP/MRP/PDM Experience would be an asset*Why you’ll love working for Bauco:** Enjoy a healthy work- life balance.* Competitive salary plus participation in the company bonus program.* Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision care benefits to support you and your family* Flexible vacation policy to recharge and rejuvenate.* Continuous learning and training to sharpen your skills and keep you ahead of the game* A casual and supportive work environment that nurtures innovation and ideas and recognizes and rewards outstanding performance* One-on-one meetings, Performance reviews, Collaborative planning, and goal-setting sessions.* Participate in our monthly peer recognition celebrations, staff meals and social events.* Opportunities to contribute your innovative ideas and get rewarded for them!* Monthly staff appreciation lunches, and many other perks* Diversity and inclusivity focused.
