Job Description

OPERATIONS CENTRE RELIEF SENIOR OFFICER Victoria The purpose of the Operations and Security Centre (OSC) is to provide 24/7 central monitoring and support to our Company’s Operations inclusive of its vessels, terminals, people, assets, technology, and systems.The main responsibilities of an OSC Officer include monitoring BCF assets, collecting relevant information and initiating corrective action as required. Where necessary, you will also facilitate conversations; give advice and direction relative to Company policy, operational requirements, and matters of safety and security.As a Relief Senior Officer, you provide support to the team as a Senior Officer when needed. The requirement to relieve into a Senior Officer position will account for approximately 50% of your regular annual hours where you lead the company’s 24/7 Operations and Security Centre Watch Floor team which includes the OSC Officer, OSC Customer Care and Service Recovery specialists.Using the IRMS System, you also provide guidance and direction to key BCF personnel on how to respond to minor, moderate and major incidents throughout the operation. You ensure proper procedures and guidelines are followed during each stage of an operational incident, service disruption, emergency or disaster situation. You also act as the lead representative and contact with internal and external agencies during any of the above situations, and ultimately be accountable and responsible for managing the information flow of incidents.You have a post-secondary degree or diploma and/or equivalent experience in marine or transportation operations and/or emergency services. You also have minimum 2 years’ experience with BC Ferry Services Operations, including terminal/tower experience and operational fleet management experience or relevant experience. As well as experience working with Emergency Services and/or experience in Incident Command.
