This position requires hands-on problem solving, strong social skills, and leadership management over a fleet of Mobile Officers. The job may be physically demanding due to the number of locations mobile covers throughout Victoria, Langford, and Saanich and is a great opportunity to build your resume and obtain work experience towards law enforcement. This particular position requires the applicant to work overnight. WHAT YOU WILL DO As a Mobile Security Officer, you provide leadership in emergency situations. Supported by our 24/7 Operations Centre, you swiftly respond to alarms, report security breaches and property damage, and direct unauthorized individuals to leave the premises. Your passion for a secure environment and an active lifestyle is what keeps you moving when patrolling inside and outside facilities, up and down stairs, and over uneven surfaces. Typical Duties and Responsibilities Always conduct themselves in a professional manner when dealing with the public and with team members.Provide direction and motivation to the Mobile team by setting positive examples of high standards in the work place.Provide critical feedback and coaching to Mobile Officers, This is done with high level of discretion.Escalate internal incidents according to the After-hours Hierarchy Chart and recommend disciplinary action where necessary to Mobile Management.Ensure hub posts and notes are signed off by the Mobile team. Team Leads will gather the team for a rally meeting at start of shift.Assist with investigations of security incidents and provide necessary details through proper chain of command (ie. FM, Mobile Coordinator, Mobile Manager) for follow-up.Able to respond, delegate additional tasks to the mobile team, and ensure hourly radio check-ins are completed.Oversee the parkade let-out reports when delegated and ensure proper procedures are followed among the mobile team for alarm responses (ie. Call back Operations or Monitoring)Submit a daily report to Mobile management of shift activities, challenges, successes, delegated tasks, and suggestions from the mobile team for any actionable items.Core Competencies Strong interpersonal and communication skillsExcellent customer service skills Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency, liability and day to day reports Watch for and report irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations and contact emergency responders as required Perform regular foot patrols of various properties and promote safety of property and public.Utilize two way radios and computer applications to communicate site activitiesA strong working knowledge of non-violent crisis intervention and de- escalation techniquesStrong observational skills Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision All our Officers are required to carry a valid Security License.
