(Lockheed Martin) Training team employees a team of specialists including Professional Educators, Instructional System Designers, Programmers and Naval Specialists. We are located across Canada with primary work sites in both the Halifax NS and Victoria BC regions. Our team of professionals support major domestic and international programs relating to the design, development, and delivery of training material for our customers. We are expanding our team and are looking for a professional, driven and team-oriented person with Naval Combat System Engineering experience to augment our team.The successful candidate will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding the maintenance of delivered products, working within the Lockheed Martin training team, contributing Lockheed Martin training projects by being responsible for:

  • Identifying and contributing to the Training Plan and maintenance training material as it directly relates to a variety of navy standards including the Qualification Standard and Plan and related policy documentation
  • Authoring maintenance lessons and conducting related activities including media analysis, production of student handouts, instructor guides, quizzes, tests, assignments, and other presentation materials based predominately on a knowledge of the maintenance of the Combat Management System (CMS) and its integrated components
  • Establishing a detailed understanding with regards to the Weapon Engineering Technician Training courses and standards
  • Conducting maintenance training delivery as an in-person instructor or eLearning facilitator, including lectures, presentations, demonstrations, practical hands-on leadership, assignments, tests, quizzes, marking and associated administration
  • Supporting Computer-Based Training (CBT) activities through data collection, storyboarding/scripting, reviews, workshops, and other related activities
  • Supporting the courseware review cycle by adapting and evolving training materials and documentation based on customer review activities and through regular liaison with technical and development staff
  • Support a flexible work schedule, including travel and overtime when necessary to support program, team, and customer schedules
  • Liaise with Lockheed Martin engineering discipline teams when necessary to collaboratively drive solutions forward
  • Support a growth mindset; seek opportunities for future development, mentorship and experience as aligned to personal, team, program, and enterprise priorities

  • Recent experience or a demonstrated capacity to develop training courseware material and instruct in a classroom environment or via virtual instruction media
  • Background in Technician trade or experience as a Combat System technician is preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of the Lockheed Martin CMS and the various integrated components
  • A solid working knowledge of the Microsoft (MS) Office product suite including MS Project
  • Experience with training analysis, course scheduling, training materials development and training conduct is a must
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Bachelor #39;s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education with a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience
  • Ability to perform analysis of maintenance documents to support training development and identify critical gaps in information
  • Ability to learn new skills and support multiple tasks when required
  • Effectively work in a team environment and collaborating with other teams
  • Effectively perform in a virtual work environment when required.
Additional skills desired for the role
  • Detailed knowledge of the Lockheed Martin CMS is considered an asset
  • Detailed knowledge of the Lockheed Martin Visual Interactive Simulation Training Application (VISTA) product is considered an asset
  • Experience with eLearning software (Storyline) and Learning Management Systems (LMSs) is an asset
  • It is considered an asset to have Department of National Defence (DND) experience as a shipboard maintainer and experience as an instructor at Canadian Forces Fleet School (CFFS) Atlantic or Pacific coupled with an understanding of the DND training system (Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES))
  • French and/or Spanish language skills.

Pay TransparencyThe annual base salary range for this position in British Colombia shows below. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin Canada considers several factors when extending an offer.Salary Range$86,400 - $120,000
