Job Description

SUMMER Labourer III - Parksamp; Recreation DepartmentThe City of Martensville has six (6) openings for temporary full-time SUMMER Labourer IIIs.SCHEDULE:

  • Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Earned Days Off (EDOs) scheduled every third Friday.
  • This position is subject to annual layoff.
  • The 2024 employment period will be April 29 to August 30, 2024.
The role performs a wide variety of duties and is responsible for the following:JOB DUTIES:
  • Maintenance of parks, playing fields, playgrounds, and boulevards.
  • Assist with sportsamp; leisure facilities #39; maintenance and operations.
  • Operate equipment for Parksamp; Recreation.
  • Minor maintenance of small equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Applicants must:
    • Be available for full-time work from April 29 to August 30, 2024.
    • Be safety conscious and demonstrate a high level of attentiveness to their own personal safety as well as that of their co-workers and the public.
    • Be able to perform physically strenuous work and to work outdoors under various weather conditions.
    • Have their Grade 12 diploma and a valid Class 5 Driver #39;s License.
  • Experience in equipment operation, parks maintenance, general labour, or construction is preferred.
  • Municipal work experience is considered an asset.
  • Applicants are subject to a criminal record check.
RATE OF PAY:
  • As per CUPE local Agreement: Probationary Rate: $19.00/hour. Non-Probationary Rate: $21.11/hour.
