Job Description

Natural Resource Solutions Inc. (NRSI) is an environmental consulting firm with our head officelocated in Waterloo, Ontario. NRSI is a well-respected firm that focuses on technical excellencein the field of ecology with experience working on a wide range of projects across Canada,including land developments, renewable energy, natural heritage planning, ecologicalrestoration, research and monitoring, and species assessments and recovery strategies. Ourstaff consists of terrestrial, wetland and aquatic biologists and ecologists with particularexpertise in the identification and management of significant and sensitive natural features.Your Contribution to NRSINRSI is currently looking to hire a qualified individual to join our administrative team on a contract basis. The successful applicant will be based out of the Waterloo, Ontario office with partial work-from home option ranging from 30-40 hours per week. This is a full-time contract position starting as soon as possible and ending November 30, 2025 (with possibility of extension).The Financial Accountant/Bookkeeper would be responsible for the completion of tasks including, but not limited to, the following under the supervision of the Controller:

  • Assist controller with month-end and year-end activity
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly invoices
  • Expense data entry and review
  • Assist in the maintenance of expense data
  • Prepare account reconciliations
  • Electronic filing of documents
  • Prepare and provide project managers with financial information, as required
  • Assist in collection of overdue accounts receivable
  • Maintenance of project contracts and purchase orders
  • Record customer payments
  • Prepare information needed for HST returns
Your Education:
  • A college diploma or university degree in accounting. A CPA designation is considered an asset.
Key Job Requirements:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work completed
  • Highly motivated with demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
  • Strong work ethic and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a finance/bookkeeping position is required.
