You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.The Opportunity: The incumbent will be a member of the Investment Technology team with key responsibilities for the investment systems and processes leveraged to manage Equitable assets. They will be responsible for spearheading a variety of research, analysis and develop projects to strategically guide effective investment processes. This will include theoretical, operational, and reporting topics covering an extensive list of categories such as individual security modelling, fund valuation, portfolio analytics, portfolio monitoring, trade order flow and portfolio management.For each project the incumbent must provide all initial research and procedural methodology; support a timely and efficient implementation, while continually evaluating current conditions and procedures for future improvement.This role is essential when aligning Corporate goals and resources of the Investment Division #39;s needs and provide support to Financial reporting, Taxation and Actuarial. The incumbent is a key employee who significantly contributes to the cost-effectiveness and efficiency of the Investment division and Equitable.Responsible for analysis, process design, program coding, testing, implementing of scripts and processes within Investments. Responsible for the strategic development of the Quantitative infrastructure and its implementation to ensure that the entire team can react to issues and develop new solutions effectively. Also responsible for managing third party applications (hosted internally or externally), providing internal support, coordination with vendor resources, and maintaining complex production applications. Responsible for afterhours support on a rotating basis, including carrying a company supplied mobile device.Analysis of production system problems and recommend workable solutions with the ability to approve fixes in time sensitive systems where the changes represent minimal risks. Responsible for performance tuning of quantitative automation processes, web interface, and maintenance operations with the ability to approve changes where they represent minimal risks to sensitive functions.What you will be doing:
