Job Description

Job DescriptionWhat You’ll Do:Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology Services, you’ll be responsible for the efficient and ongoing operation, security and management of OTIP’s technology landscape, including, but not limited to, hybrid cloud, server, storage services, network, telephony and desktop. This includes researching, defining, planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, optimization of services and overall service management. The Senior Network and Systems Administrator troubleshoots all technology issues including security. Analysis of performance and capacity planning is also required. The core parts of your role will be to:

  • Define, design, implement, test and maintain high quality service for cloud (Azure/M365), virtualization, server, SANs, VMware, mobility, firewalls, telephony, desktop, network switches and routers and other technology to provide a highly available, reliable and safe enterprise computing environment, using industry best practices.
  • Establish performance and quality standards; monitor the enterprise technology services (internal and external) for optimal quality, performance, service level agreements, as well as, efficiencies and maintain a high level of system availability. Develop strategies to assess, implement and test improvements including patch updates. Execute on strategies.
  • Oversee fluid and dependable operations and system back up for all technology services, including disaster recovery and related, and maintaining up to date documentation.
  • In a consulting manner, conduct investigation, troubleshooting and analyzing, and present recommendations related to all enterprise technology services, with technology experts (internal and external) and business partners, including cost analysis, requesting and assessing quotes, and procurement of services and equipment. Take technical ownership for initiatives.
  • Ensure documentation and knowledge bases are kept up to date through methods of continuous improvement as an effective tool for design, support and troubleshooting.
  • Provide guidance to the organization in the implementation, support and design of the enterprise systems to meet OTIP’s business, security and service level requirements on an ongoing basis.
  • Recommend work schedules and procedures, oversee operation and production schedules, and co-ordinates activities with other work units or departments.
  • Work with vendors to determine best procedures for problem resolution and manages vendor relationships throughout lifecycle of technology or service.
  • Conduct research into leading edge solutions, monitor technology and industry trends and take the lead in evaluating new services and techniques.
  • Perform or assist with hardware/software installations and upgrades including home offices and relocations as required to support business needs.
  • Perform other duties within competence as assigned.
