Company ProfileVision Greens is a vertical farming company dedicated to bringing sustainable nutrition to Canada. Our first facility is located in the pristine Niagara Region in Welland, Ontario. The facility leverages space research technology to produce up to 1 million pounds of leafy greens annually. Our products are flavorful, nutritious and pesticide free. Vision Greens is in rapid expansion mode with an expanding customer base in wholesale, retail, and food service markets.Job ProfileThe Facilities Manager is a multi-disciplinary role responsible for overall operations of the farm including food production, management of facilities and the farm, warehousing, shipping and receiving and employee and food quality and safety standards. As part of the leadership team, you will collaborate with senior management to increase production capacity, lead the physical expansion of the facility and provide guidance regarding the deployment of capital. You will partner with the Head Grower to meet weekly production targets with the highest standards in yield and quality.Responsibilities

  • Ensure the farm and facility are operating under optimal conditions to meet production targets while adhering to the highest in quality and safety standards
  • Participate in the Sales & Operations Planning process to ensure production capacity is aligned with sales demand
  • Manage production of finished goods and logistics to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders on a daily basis
  • Inspect all building and farm systems and equipment on a regular basis to identity, resolve and prevent potential issues
  • Manage maintenance of property exterior including landscaping, snow removal and waste disposal
  • Manage all inventory for the farm and manage relevant vendor relationships
  • Lead and manage processes that ensure employee safety, protection of the environment and compliance to all health and safety regulations
  • Create and maintain operating SOPs and implement employee training
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a medium to large sized facility, preferably in food manufacturing
  • University or College degree preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of facilities management and maintenance including HVAC, Mechanical and Electrical systems
  • Effective procurement and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to motivate staff to achieve time-bound goals in an efficient and cost-conscious manner
  • Must be located in the Niagara Region
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per yearBenefits:
