Job Description

The Opportunity!Ram Iron & Metal is looking for a Office Administrator. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and transmitting reliable messages, tracking vehicles and material loads in/out and recording key information on such items as fuel usage and repairs on vehicles and keeping updated daily load calendars.

  • Provide quality service to Ram customers in all assigned tasks while upholding Ram’s values at all times.
  • Generate status reports and shipment records; validate accuracy of invoices, and supporting documents.
  • Keep records of Bill of Ladings and create customer invoices.
  • Schedule and coordinate loads from and to customers’ sites.
  • Enter information into the Mayer system, Excel spreadsheet and other software as needed.
  • Communicate with other internal departments
  • Inputting and tracking of truck information (including freight rates)
  • Scheduling
  • Monitoring all brokerage loads, casting trucks, completion and scheduling
  • Other duties as assigned
Dispatch
  • Direct the pickup and delivery activities by appropriately assigning Drivers to trucks.
  • Configure routes for pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Schedule sales loads (sold material) for delivery going outbound from the company facility.
  • Advise Drivers of route and traffic problems such as construction, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, weight and size restrictions and other information.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests for pickup and delivery of freight, and
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dispatch Manager.
Scale Attendant
  • Greet and direct customers and employees upon entry of the Scale-house
  • Track weight information from scale house and enter into Mayer system and into weight log form.
  • File weight log form into scale log binder daily.
  • Enter grades of material into Mayer system
  • Calculate payments for customers
  • Produce purchase invoices for customers
  • Issue cash payments to customers
  • Ensure to enter weight of truck into the Mayer system each time a truck enters onto scale.
  • Report weight discrepancies of greater than 200 pounds to the Dispatch Manager
  • Answer phones and customer inquiries.

    • Purchase Tickets
    • Cash Purchase Tickets
    • Sales Purchase Tickets
  • When assisting in the Scale office ensure that:
  • Contractors sign in the Contractor binder prior to entering and leaving the yard,
  • Verify that the Contractor is on the approved Contractor list,
  • Notify the Human Resources department when a Contractor is not on the approved Contractor list.
