Job Description

Killam Apartment REIT (TSX: KMP.UN), is one of the largest owners, managers and developers of multi-residential rental properties and manufactured home communities in Canada. Killam is focused on maximizing its value and long-term profitability through increasing earnings, expanding the portfolio through acquisitions, and developing high-quality properties in its core markets.This successful candidate will work out of two properties: Luma (964 Smyth Road, Ottawa), a 9-storey boutique rental community with 168 premium residences in Elmvale Acres that opened in the spring 2022 and 621 Cummings Avenue, located in the Castle Heights area. We are currently searching for a customer focused, energetic Assistant Resident Manager/Cleaner to join our team. This is a live-in role, based at Luma and would require a vehicle to go between the two properties.What you will do:

  • Operate vacuum cleaners to remove dirt and other waste;
  • Wash windows and interior walls;
  • Pick up garbage;
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers;
  • Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs;
  • Maintain cleanliness of common areas;
  • Clean vacant units;
  • Report deficiencies to Property Manager for repair;
  • Shared on-call duties;
  • Tenant relations, inquiries and rental calls;
  • Other duties as required.
Who you are:
  • Previous experience in a similar role and/or customer service role is considered an asset;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Proven communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision;
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle.
