Our Exciting OpportunityOur software development team is responsible for the Ericsson Indoor Planner (EIP) product. EIP is a Web App planning tool used to model the deployment of indoor radio products including the Radio Dot System (RDS). EIP optimizes the deployment of radio equipment in order to provide the best coverage inside a building while minimizing the amount of equipment required. The user inputs a floorplan image and building specifications such as structure materials, ceiling height, and cellular parameters. EIP performs image processing and analyzes the data, then output several reports such as the heatmap (showing signal strength), the positioning of the equipment, routing (cable connections between the equipment), and the materials list.The EIP product consists of a front-end application running inside a browser and back-end components running in the MS Azure cloud. Our team develops the software for both the front-end and the back-end of EIP.We typically deploy 3 to 4 major EIP releases each year. Therefore, you will be exposed to all aspects of the software development cycle during your 12 or 16 months internship: analysis, design, coding, manual and automated testing, integration, and maintenance.Our coop students are an integral part of our teams and they typically take on similar assignments as our regular employees, subject to product backlog and project timelines. Coop assignments are scaled according to your experience, qualification, performance, and motivation.If any of the type of work mentioned here interest you, then please apply!   • Your experience at developing web applications (front-end and/or back-end) features.
  • Your technical skills. Software development and debugging;
On front-end, we use HTML5, CSS, React, Redux, JavaScript, GoJS.On back-end, we use: Microsoft Azure cloud services. ASP.net, C#, Java, JavaScript, SQL and database modeling, Python, Shell Scripting.
  • Your knowledge of software administration tools such as: Jenkins, Gerrit, JIRA, VS code, Visual Studio Professional, the Microsoft suite.
  • Your radio knowledge of wireless technology.
You will also:
  • Develop automated test cases, integration, verification and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and contribute to resolution of issues uncovered during testing and deployments of the app.
  • Manage product backlog while meeting the project timelines in all aspects of SW development.
  • Work with the team, and on your own, to perform software dev and testing.
You will bring
  • Ongoing studies at Bachelor or Master Program majored in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Communications, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Solid programming knowledge
  • English language proficiency (both written and spoken)
  • Self-motivated, driven, results-oriented.
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Open minded and proactive attitude
  • Capability to understand and propose solutions for new and complex problems.
