We are growing quickly and are currently in need of System Requirement Analyst to join our System Engineering team.The System Requirement Analyst will help drive the Lightspeed program by ensuring the System Engineering requirements development process and related tools are properly established, well understood by the team, appropriately maintained, and updated as needed with the latest lessons learned.Role responsibilities:

  • Participate actively in the development and expansion of requirement management and verification activities for the Telesat Lightspeed System Engineering project.
  • Interface with other Telesat groups and Telesat #39;s contractors on end-to-end requirements exchange and verification activities.
  • Support data creation, update and exchange tasks in the scope of requirements management and verification activities and manage synchronization of requirement states between Telesat and Telesat #39;s vendors.
  • Perform and own tasks for administration of the tools including, but not limited to, creating credentials, managing permissions, ensuring proper project structure, and customizing project dashboards.
  • Be able to use python (or other script language) to help automate requirements management within Telesat and requirements exchange with Telesat #39;s contractors.
  • Work with System Engineering team and Program Management Office to provide training, enforce, and recommend improvements to existing processes to maintain quality assurance for internal and external coordination.
  • Document standards, guidelines, templates, and best practice procedures for users of the system
  • Help the team plan for upcoming activities in the system engineering cycle, including but not limited to, exchanges of supplier and vendor deliverables, interface control documents, test plans, test results and qualification data.
Education and Experience required:
  • B. Sc. or equivalent 4-year degree, preferably in one of the following fields: Electrical, Computer Science, Computer Information Science, Library Technologies, or System Engineering
  • Programming/scripting skills in Python or similar
  • Knowledge of requirement management and best practices in relation to requirement relationships is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Jama and Jira tools, workflows, and permission schemes is desirable.
Specialized knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong project organization skill set.
  • Creative problem-solver with thorough attention to detail
  • Highly collaborative team-player who can quickly earn the confidence of co-workers and teammates.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • An aptitude for and interest in complex technology
  • Fluent in English, written and oral.
