Job Description

Transit DriverLocation: Whistler, BCMultiple Openings - Full-Time Seasonal Positions Available (October 2022 - April 2023)PWTransit is currently seeking career oriented Conventional Transit Bus Drivers to join our team in Whistler, British Columbia. Transit Drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers on a daily basis and must be committed to providing superior service. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are all required qualities. We do offer competitive wages, a generous pension plan, and benefits. Position Requirements:

  • A valid Class 1 or 2 driver #39;s license with air brake endorsement; license upgrades will also be considered for candidates meeting all other criteria
  • Driver #39;s abstract with no more than 3 demerit points
  • Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening
  • Clear criminal record
  • Must be organized, punctual and reliable
  • Possess excellent driving skills and habits
  • Ability to read maps and navigate
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to make sound decisions on short notice under stressful situations in all types of weather
  • A good knowledge of the local area is a definite asset
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes in Whistler, Squamish and Pemberton
  • Manage passenger behaviour by quickly and effectively solving problems
  • Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions
