Job Description

  • Evaluate operational and administrative practices of ambulance, communication and Base Hospital services against legislation, established standards and Performance Agreements, as applicable.
  • Identify and document areas of non-compliance.
  • Prepare reports with supportable information and conclusions.
  • Provide information and advice on standards, policies and corrective measures.
  • Act as witness at judicial proceedings, as requested.
How do I qualifyMandatory
  • You must have a valid class G drivers licence or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario. The offer of employment is conditional upon the successful candidate providing proof that they have a valid drivers licence upon being hired.
Emergency Health System, Policy and Legislative Knowledge:
  • You know land and air ambulance service operations, communication service operations, and Base Hospital service operations.
  • You understand and can apply Emergency Health Services policies, standards, legislation, Performance Agreements, regulations and practices (i.e. patient care, health and safety, vehicles, equipment, cleanliness, sanitation and administration).
Inspections, Analytical and Organizational Skills:
  • You understand and can apply inspections practices.
  • You can gather and analyze information, document non-compliance issues and provide recommendations.
  • You are organized and use initiative to coordinate your workload.
Consultation, Interpersonal and Client Relations Skills:
  • You use good consultation skills to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • You use your interpersonal and diplomatic skills to deal with contentious and sensitive issues.
Communication and Computer Skills:
  • You communicate effectively and can prepare and present information in clear and concise manner.
  • You are proficient in various computer software applications and databases (i.e. word-processing, database and spreadsheets).
