For more information, please visit www.thermofisher.com.How will you make an impactYou will coordinate and manage the strategic procurement at both site and Business Unit (BU) level, vendor compliance and daily purchasing activities. You will act as primary point of contact with external vendors, focusingon cost savings opportunities, contract implementation and compliance, negotiation and maintenance, sourcing, costing, and vendor relationship management. You will troubleshoot delivery and quality issues.What will you doEssential Functions:In line with COE’s strategy, manages commodity to support overall goals for performance including Right First Time (RFT), On Time in Full (OTIF), Purchase Price Variance (PPV) savings targets, and Quality Assurance.Supports vendor value management programs.Builds and maintains positive vendor relationships through open and timely communication, on-site supplier visits/audits, regular performance feedback, and conflict resolution.Drives site TT and PDS sourcing activities, projects and implementations.Identifies cost savings opportunities within assigned categories.Supports regulatory compliance activities: internal tracking systems, audit requirements, internal change controls, etc.Manages pricing, quality supplier issues and supports documentation and Request for Council Action (RCA).Participates in and/or supports product launch teams, technical transfer and integration projects.Assess supplier profiles and analyze offersPrepares and implements effective negotiation tacticsManages relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contractsMonitors stock levelsSupports/leads Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) effort and documentation.Resolve invoice discrepancies.Prepares and submits detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures etc.)Drives site-specific and BU-level sourcing activities, projects and implementations.Manages all procurement master data management includes verification and reconciliation.Manages stewardship of changes / additions to vendor master data.Supports/leads Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) effort and documentation.Reconciles invoices changed by vendor after order was set by buyer.How will you get thereREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Minimum College Diploma is required. Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain management preferred.Experience:Minimum 6 years purchasing experience within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.Experience with SAP and ARIBA preferred.Certified Production and inventory control Management (CPIM) and/or Supply Chain ManagementProfessional (SCMP) designation preferred.Equivalency:Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role.Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions.Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel – VLOOKUP, pivot tables, PowerPoint) and purchasing software (Ariba).Highly organized with well-developed time-management skills.Ability to assume responsibility and take independent action.
