Job Description

Warehouse Worker I – Part Time/On CallThis is a 6-month contract role.How will you make an impactWhen you’re part of the team at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll do important work, like helping customers in finding cures for cancer, protecting the environment or making sure our food is safe. Your work will have a real-world impact, and you’ll be supported in achieving your career goals.What will you doHandle product throughout picking, checking, packing, conveyor, and put-away utilising RF technology and PCs in a safe environment.Responsibilities:

  • Operate material handling equipment safely and controlled within a warehouse that stocks hazardous products.
  • Operate remote frequency devices and or computer workstations effectively in order to update warehouse management and transportation management systems.
  • Receive, put away, replenish, pick, pack, ship orders, and work on the conveyor.
  • Follow the company processes, policies and regulatory practices, including handling of hazardous materials, transportation of dangerous goods, ISO, CGP, Radiation, WHMIS, and Asbestos.
  • Assist, when necessary, in cycle counting or physical inventory (should a physical inventory be called by corporate).
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Assists in special projects or other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or DC manager.
How will you get hereRequirementsEducation:
  • A high school diploma
Experience
  • General warehouse experience
  • Able to lift or lower goods up to 50lbs. to or from waist level
  • Qualified equipment operator (forklift, order picking truck, reach truck) is a definite plus!
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Basic digital literacy
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Motivated, willing to learn and able to work independently
  • Flexible with hours of work and with the assignment of tasks as rotation.
