Job Description

Conifer Energy Inc is a new entrant to the Canadian energy marketplace supported by senior industry professionals and an exemplary operations staff. Our production exceeds 8,000 BOED and produces our energy from the best reservoirs in the province of Alberta not only for recovery but also for their future carbon capture, utilization, and storage potential.Reporting to the Integrity Manager, the Construction Coordinator, based out of our Judy Creek Production Complex, located approximately 40km North of Whitecourt Alberta, provides construction management support for our upstream oil & gas processing facilities. The role will support our operations at the Judy Creek Production Facility, Judy Creek Gas Plant, Redwater, Carson Creek, Deer Mountain and Goose River.Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide input into the development of the project cost estimate and schedule.
  • Inspect the construction site to ensure all hazards are mitigated.
  • Ensure all HSSE requirements are being satisfied and promote safety culture.
  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day construction progress of site projects.
  • Oversee and facilitate the installation of all equipment and material and ensure contractors are fulfilling all obligations and that work is carried out according to approved contracts, specifications, and schedules.
  • Interpret designs and drawings for technicians.
  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure materials and resources are available when needed.
  • Track RFIs, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and other project documents.
  • Proactively identify and work to resolve any site issues that may impede the project delivery.
  • Monitor the material and tools spending to stay on budget.
  • Ensure the project is being constructed inline with the project budget, schedule, safety and quality requirements.
  • Monitor and report project details to the project management, including progress, risks, and opportunities in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all changes to specifications, jobs scope and drawings are documented and updated.
  • Responsible for the labor force hours and the job time needed for completion.
  • Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reasons for less than satisfactory performance.
  • keep track of project defects, including their completion status.
  • Follow the project post closeout till finishing the warranty period.
  • Leading the constructability effort for the project
  • Setting, measuring, and monitoring KPI targets
  • Prepare and ensure the mechanical completion complete with turnover package to operations.
  • Prepare and ensure acceptance and hand-over of the work scope
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar field from an Accredited Institution.
  • 5-10 years of demonstrated construction support to upstream oil & gas facilities.
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a variety of multi-disciplined construction projects at the same time with results provided in a timely manner.
  • Strong in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and contractor management skills.
