If you are not currently authorized to work in Canada, the employer will not consider your job application.This position is a maternity leave replacement until December 2022, with possibility of extension.The CPNP Support Worker position is part of the Healthy Babies, Healthy Futures program at the Victoria Faulkner Women’s Centre. This program is part of the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program that provides nutrition information and support to pregnant people and parents with an infant up to 12 months of age.The Support Worker is responsible for:
  • Setting up, co-facilitating & cleaning up for HBHF drop-in sessions
  • Menu planning & shopping for HBHF lunches within the program’s budget, with assistance from the Kitchen Coordinator
  • Prepare & serve healthy balanced meals to HBHF participants
  • Providing outreach & emotional support to HBHF participants
  • Providing assistance to pregnant people, parents, and infants up to one year of age in identifying personal needs
  • Facilitating drop-offs, laundering/washing, sorting & organization of donations
  • Providing in-home support where parent is present. Parent may be sleeping, cleaning, visiting, etc.
  • Completing the program functions within the applicable policies of Victoria Faulkner Women’s Centre
  • Light administrative tasks
  • Other tasks as needed to support the Healthy Babies, Healthy Futures team
  • Stand in as CPNP Coordinator when the CPNP Coordinator is away for periods of time
Additional Requirements:
  • Must reside in Canada
  • Must identify as a woman
  • Must be able to prepare nutritious and delicious meals for large groups (approx. 30 people)
  • Must be available for weekly drop-in sessions and start at 8am on those days
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Preference given to those with own transportation
  • Criminal record check for the vulnerable sector is required
Details:
  • up to 20 hours per week with additional hours added as funding allows
  • Previous participants of the program and Moms wanting to reintegrate back into the work force are welcome and encouraged to apply
