Job Description

Yukon Communicable Disease Control (YCDC) within Health and Social Services is responsible for the overall management and surveillance of Communicable Disease throughout Yukon and is the territorial body responsible for reporting all nationally reportable diseases to the Public Health Agency of Canada. As the Clinical Manager, YCDC, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of direct and indirect clinical services and educational programs offered by YCDC. The position is responsible for the day-to-day management of YCDC programming including the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of clinical and educational programs and activities and plays a leading role in the development and implementation of management plans and coordination of resources in outbreak situations, including large-scale emergencies and disasters. This position supervises clinical and administrative staff, manages YCDC budget and expenditures, at times provides direct and indirect clinical services to clients, and consults and facilitates care with other health care providers as required.At YCDC, we are looking for an individual with the technical understanding of communicable diseases and the leadership and management skills necessary to lead a team while building capacity in others.   • Bachelors Degree in Nursing with a Masters in another relevant field; a Masters Degree in Nursing is preferred
  • Current registration in good standing with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory body
  • Significant nursing experience in communicable disease management
  • Significant experience in a management role and leading teams in a healthcare setting
  • Experience in the interpretation and use of epidemiologic data to make recommendations for territorial programming is considered an asset
  • Experience in supervising/managing the delivery of community health/public health programs is considered an assetAn equivalent combination of education, training, and experience including a Bachelor of Nursing plus considerable relevant experience may be considered.
