Company ProfileMinto Metals, a producing underground copper mine has exciting opportunities to become part of our team and live by our Company values – Be Safe, Be Honest, Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Great!Minto is looking to build its work force and is looking for a range of candidates who would like to become part of a dynamic, team-oriented, and performance-driven environment.PositionsWe are seeking a Mill Operator for a full time/regular position. The role will be based at the Minto mine, which is a camp-based operation with a two week on/two week off rotation.The Ideal CandidatesYou will have;

  • Previous experience of undertaking in a similar role within a flotation processing plant;
  • Proven ability to solve problems;
  • Ability to operate in an agile and fast paced environment;
  • Excellent inter-personal skills;
  • A valid Driver’s License;
  • Eligibility to work in Canada;
  • A residence in Yukon is an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor grinding process, perform all checks, to ensure efficient grinding at maximum throughput;
  • Communicate within mill department to ensure optimal plant performance;
  • Identify process improvement opportunities;
  • Report all defects to ensure they can be remedied in a timely manner;
  • Work independently, but also be effective within a team environment;
  • Ensure that safety issues are reported and promptly remedied;
  • Demonstrate safety leadership within a team environment and promote environmental awareness in all work or task related duties;
  • Maintain a high standard of performance in your duties;
  • Be able to conduct training and provide mentorship to trainees;
  • Be an effective communicator in English (verbal and written) at all levels, including keeping your cross-shift and other team members fully informed at all times;
  • Participate in site specific training;
  • Comply with company standards, as well as Yukon Territory and Canadian federal standards;
  • Other relevant duties as required.
