Job Description

This is for 2 positions: 1 one-year full-time term and 1 two-year full-time term.Department of JusticeThe Department of Justice is working to ensure Yukon remains a safe, secure, and healthy place to live and work. The incumbent prepares files and court documents, provides legal technical support and guidance to lawyers, and is responsible for the creation and management of systems of organization, particularly in relation to legal document collections.   • Post-secondary certification/course work as a paralegal or legal assistant
  • Experience and/or training in providing legal or paralegal support
  • Experience in the development and implementation of record keeping systems
  • Experience in the area of civil litigation would be an asset.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.Desired Knowledge, Skills and SuitabilityCandidates should have and may be assessed on:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong and professional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple critical and time-sensitive deadlines

  • Proficiency with various computer applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
