All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.Assessment accommodationDutiesFisheries and Oceans Canada is seeking candidates with an interest in serving in a multi-faceted and dynamic role as a Program Manager for either northwestern British Columbia or the Yukon operational areas, based out of Whitehorse, Yukon.Program Managers work with a team of Canadian and U.S. managers, assessment and research biologists, as well as technicians and advisors to conserve, manage and support the rebuilding of salmon stocks in accordance with Canadas international commitments under the Pacific Salmon Treaty. Management activities are informed by domestic obligations and considerations, including facilitating co-management of the resource in partnership with First Nation Governments.This position requires skillful management that facilitates diplomatic outcomes through the successful navigation of varied and complex stakeholder needs, recognition of an integrated international legal framework and associated complex political considerations, and an understanding of the unique biological parameters that underpin the health of Pacific salmon fisheries.Fisheries and Oceans Canada encourages motivated and qualified candidates with an interest in this unique opportunity to contribute to the conservation of Canada’s most northerly Pacific salmon stocks to apply.Intent of the processThis process is anticipatory in nature.
