We are committed to safety, quality work, community, work-life balance and honesty within our entire organization.We are currently seeking applicants for the following position: Human Resources Manager Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer Job Brief: The Human Resources Manager will develop, lead, and direct all functions of the human resources, recruitment, and payroll departments. This role will require the creation, maintenance, and implementation of human resource policies, programs, and standard operating procedures for all Canadian and United States operations. The selected incumbent will lead a team of recruitment advisors, a payroll team and have the opportunity to grow and develop a HR team to support the Canadian and US business units. This opportunity will require the selected candidate to have a well versed background in development and creation of a Human Resources policy, employment law and standards code for Canada and US, ability to develop department structure with the alignment of the business needs.Dutiesamp; Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Maintain the organizational structure and provide guidance on future growth, progression planning and strategic organization design.
  • Build a corporate HR policy manual and employee handbook and ensure compliance with HR regulations for both Canadian and US operations.
  • Manage and enhance employee benefits programs, compensation, health insurance, and vacation while maintaining external partnerships with benefits providers and or brokers.
  • Champion the onboarding process and support and guide the recruitment team to develop strategies that enhance the talent acquisition and retention efforts across the organization.
  • Establish a fully functioning Recruitment department to maintain successful recruiting, interviewing, and testing programs; counsel branch managers on candidate interviewing and selection processes.
  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization #39;s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provide support and guidance to HR generalists, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Provide support and guidance to the entire payroll department for both Canada and the US Operations.
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding administrative processes (Employee Life Cycle), including the management of ATS/HRM/Payroll systems and advise on system changes and or implementations to support efficiencies across all human resources and payroll functions.
  • Conduct compensation benchmarking audits and develop a compensation strategy that meets the needs of the business, demographics, and industry.
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Create a performance appraisal and management program and establish an effective mode to role out and train leaders across the organization.
  • Conduct Annual ESAT Surveys, analyze data and present findings to the executive team to support a positive work environment for Control Techs employees. Use Net Promotor Scoring for benchmarking overall employee satisfaction and develop KPIs for future corporate initiatives.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and grievance mediation to both employees and managers to foster respect, trust, and consistency across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and administration in employer actions such as performance improvement plans and termination to ensure legal compliance.
  • Maintain employer guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policy and procedures.
  • Maintain the Electrical and Instrumentation Apprenticeship programs and the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) ensuring compliance is met for both the employee and Control Tech for the various program requirements.
  • Maintain compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable employment standards for Federal / Provincial / State and local employment laws and regulations; conduct investigations; maintain records; respond to Employment Standards, Employment Insurance and Human Rights inquires / complaints.
  • Anticipate the needs and ongoing HR analysis in the areas of recruitment, retention, performance management, trainingamp; development, records management, compensation, benefits, systems management and make recommendations and lead initiatives for all HR and Payroll.
  • Promote a positive organizational culture that engages and motivates employees through communication initiatives, employee participation events and employee recognition and rewards.
  • Provide historical human resource data and records; maintain a filing and retrieval system for past and current records.
  • Assist with the entry of new hire data, employee transfer data, and employee change data into IFS (ERP) system.
Required Skillsamp; Abilities:
  • Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A positive and proactive approach towards problem-solving and meeting challenges.
  • Strong computer skills with demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP (IFS) software, HRM (ARCORO) software, and ATS (ARCORO) software.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years experience as an HR Manager (within Oil and Gas industry is an asset)
  • Previous experience Managing and or overseeing a payroll department.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Employment Standards legislation and Human Rights is an asset.
  • Ability to handle confidential information ethically with integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to find independent solutions to problems and anticipate organizational needs.
  • Ability to travel within Canada and United States as required.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Administration or related field required.
  • CHRP would be considered an asset.
  • Payroll Designation would be considered an asset.
