Position: Educational AssistantEmployment Status: Term (6 hours per day) - *Maternity LeaveStart Date: December 15, 2022 - June 30, 2023School/Location: Prairie Dale SchoolPosting: 71-EA-22(Note: Applicants who have prior experience, knowledge and ability in the following areas will be given special consideration:
  • Working with Gr. 4-8 students with an emphasis on self-regulation
  • Prior experience with ASD & ADHD needs would be an asset
  • Supporting students in one-on-one, small group, or general classroom settings
  • At risk students with behavioural or learning challenges
  • Indoor and/or outdoor duty as assigned
______________________________________________________Positions may include working with students who require:
  • Behavioural, emotional, social support for exceptional challenges
  • Support for physical & hygiene challenges
  • Computer Assisted Learning
  • Outdoor/Indoor Supervision
  • Remedial Support
  • English As An Additional Language
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Grade 12
  • Experience and/o training in the advertised position
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record & Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Ability to relate to the school community and community value base
Prairie Dale School (PDS) is a grade 4 – 8 middle school, located in Schanzenfeld, MB (minutes south of the City of Winkler). With an enrolment of 224 and a staff of 32, PDS features contemporary energy efficiencies, LEED silver certification and specialized learning environments. PDS operates on core exemplary practices, such as PLC teaming, strong networked relationships and remediation for mastery learning.
