Job Description

Job DescriptionAs part of our continued growth, our Winnipeg office has an opportunity for an Electrical, Instrumentationamp; Controls Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in delivering conceptual, preliminary and detailed design phases, construction services in utility, mining, Industrial and/or municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities. They will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment to deliver advanced water and wastewater treatment facilities, transmission and distribution, renewables and large mining projects to our clients based in Western Canada and the USA.The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Design of electrical power and distribution systems, lighting, grounding and control systems
  • Design and supervise production of drawings and specifications for complete electrical and automation systems including single line diagram, AC/DC schematics, field and panel control devices and SCADA for various processes including water/wastewater treatment, utility and mining applications.
  • Design experience with MV/HV substation protection and control systems philosophy, switchyard physical design including MV/HV equipment and structure, cable trench and grounding layout.
  • Strictly adhere to AECOM #39;s project and Quality standards, including capability of learning and adopting clients #39; standard and requirements upon request
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical aspect on project documentation produced in accordance with AECOM QA/QC procedures and the clients #39; standards.
  • Ensure that project deliverables are produced in a timely manner to expected quality and allocated budget.
  • Work with Construction Contract Administrator to review Shop Drawings, prepare and issue responses to contractor queries.
  • Perform site inspections and issue inspection reports, issue Field Instructions and Field Orders, and prepare deficiency reports.
  • Provide technical support through all phases of the project.
  • Understands the importance of meeting schedules, deadlines and good time management.
