POSITION SUMMARY: We’re seeking a finance or accounting professional to lead our Bids and Costing team; a high-visibility group responsible for analyzing, validating, and managing cost structures tied to multi-million-dollar transit bus contracts. As Bids and Costing Manager, you’ll bridge finance and supply chain by driving accurate material costing for bids and change orders, supporting margin analysis, and ensuring compliance with cost-related contract requirements. This is a key leadership role that reports into Sourcing and works closely with Finance, Sales, Procurement, and Engineering. We welcome applicants with CPA designations and strong cost accounting or financial analysis backgrounds who are looking to apply their skills in a dynamic manufacturing environment.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Lead the Bids and Costing team, overseeing financial validation and support for bid pricing, customer change requests, and special contract cost obligations
    • Ensure costing accuracy and consistency across all bids, options, and Sales Requested Contract Revisions (SRCRs)
    • Analyze build margin performance against bid targets, working with cross-functional teams to address cost variances and risk
    • Act as the Sourcing representative in strategy meetings for Bids and Options, bringing a financial lens to discussions
    • Coordinate cost estimates and inflation assumptions with component suppliers and the Strategic Sourcing team
    • Prepare material cost summaries and costing bridges for senior leadership review, highlighting risks, inflation assumptions, and supplier-specific impacts
    • Support Finance with the reporting and analysis of contract margins, and help explain variances from bid-level expectations
    • Manage compliance reporting and documentation for contract-specific obligations such as Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals and New York State Content
    • Monitor and report on Reference Bus cost trends to inform future bid strategies
    • Uphold strong internal controls (ICFR) and ensure accurate, auditable financial processes are followed
    RequirementsWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
    • A university degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
    • CPA designation (or in progress) is strongly preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, or finance roles supporting manufacturing or supply chain
    • Experience working with procurement, sourcing, or operations teams is a strong asset
    • Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a deep understanding of cost drivers in complex environments
    • Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a process-oriented mindset
    • Experience preparing and analyzing financial reports for senior stakeholders
