Job Description

Business System Control SpecialistNew Flyer is North America #39;s heavy-duty transit bus leader with various locations in North America.Offering the most advanced product line under the Xcelsior® and Xcelsior CHARGE™ brands. Further information is available at www.newflyer.com.POSITION SUMMARYReporting to the Manager, Business System and Continuous Improvement, this position is responsible for maintaining, analyzing, and improving department’s procedures by identifying, developing, and executing improvements through the utilization of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies. This position supports a culture of continuous improvement through data analysis/reporting, system enhancement and automation. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Support department’s Lean Journey by focusing on improving efficiency, overall process optimization and automation.
  • Drive analysis of business needs to ensure end to end processes are customer and employee focused, efficient, effective and utilize six sigma tools to understand process gaps to enable solution.
  • Develop, maintain, and update necessary system design documentation, working towards developing a complete Quality Management system.
  • Refresh and continually improve departmental metrics (customer centric/self-managing) and leverage metrics to drive continuous improvement in all areas of the business (e.g., project management, quality, safety, finance, bids, etc..).
  • Direct the development, coordination, and delivery of training.
  • Maintain department’s financial controls in relation to Cashflow, Revenue Projections, Contingency and perform financial reconciliation on completed projects.
  • Perform quarterly financial and overall process audits, report findings and address non-conformance.
  • Provide Information Technology support with system upgrades, issue resolution, including testing of requested Change Request Forms and other IT Changes.
  • Perform Oracle and other administrative responsibilities necessary to support the infrastructure team.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Management or Administration.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification is required for this position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean process development and improvement methodologies.
  • A detail-oriented and motivated self-starter with strong analysis and reporting capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills with programming and automation experience.
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Power BI, Procore or similar business systems would be considered an asset.
