Job Description

For more information, visit www.nfi.partsPOSITION SUMMARYAs a key member of our Procurement and Planning Team, the Category Manager will take the lead in managing product categories, developing strategic sourcing strategies, and enhancing supplier relationships to achieve cost effectiveness and quality improvements. This role requires a deep understanding of market trends and supplier capabilities to optimally position NFI Parts within the competitive landscape while exceeding customer expectations.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement strategic category plans that align with business objectives and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, threats, and opportunities within assigned categories.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions while ensuring supplier compliance and performance.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, monitoring performance and conducting regular business reviews to drive continuous improvement.
  • Analyze purchasing trends, spending patterns, and supplier performance data to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement, inventory planning, and operations to align category strategy with business goals.
  • Champion category initiatives to enhance product availability, reduce costs, and maximize overall profitability.
  • Prepare and present reports and analyses to senior management, providing insights into category performance and growth opportunities.
  • Continuously monitor and assess category performance against KPIs and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain management or related field will be considered
  • 5 years’ experience working with Supply teams and a domestic/global supply base
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Have extensive knowledge of ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of Distribution and Manufacturing concepts/processes
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced organizational, analytical and negotiating skills
  • Possess sense of urgency with a hands-on approach in a dynamic and time sensitive work environment
  • SCMA, ISM or APICS continuing education is beneficial
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, effectively prioritize and work efficiently in a high demanding fast-paced team-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of Oracle is an asset
