Proudly serving all 25 of the largest transit agencies in North America, New Flyer actively supports over 35,000 heavy-duty transit buses currently operated by approximately 500 agenciesPOSITION SUMMARY:Reporting to the Senior Manager of Sustainability, the Compliance Specialist - People and Culture will play a key role in ensuring the organization meets its obligations across a range of departmental compliance areas. This includes employment legislation, environmental, health and safety (EHS) regulations and standards, sustainability reporting, and commercial bid requirements.This position works with leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to identify and address compliance risks, evaluate policy adherence, and align with organizational and regulatory requirements.WHY JOIN US:

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Develop and implement systems that support consistent compliance and disclosure practices across the organization, contributing to broader corporate goals.
  • Establish and maintain a centralized system for organizing departmental commercial bid responses and compliance requirements
  • Stay up to date on regulatory changes, related indices, stakeholder expectations, and emerging trends—helping to identify potential gaps and supporting leaders in managing compliance and reducing risk.
  • Monitor, assess and audit compliance and control risks across departmental functions with a focus on internal systems and external reporting.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of compliance best practices in line with international standards to promote consistency across the business.
  • Support the preparation and review of non-financial reporting materials, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of departmental disclosures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure departmental compliance requirements are met across the organization.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL:
  • A degree or diploma in Business, Human Resources, Sustainability, Law, Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Public Policy, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated compliance and/or business experience with a strong analytical focus.
  • Familiarity with People and Culture, EHS and sustainability legislation or practices an asset.
  • Experience working in an audit-sensitive or disclosure-sensitive environments with a familiarity with interpreting regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to maintain clean repositories, templates, workflows, and dashboards.
