Job Description

Further information is available at www.newflyer.com.Position Summary: As a key member of the Control Systems team, you will support engineering, the production facilities, field service organizations and other departments as needed to transition the company to the upcoming updated vehicle multiplexing architecture.Core Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of the new multiplexing architecture, becoming a subject matter expert in the process.
  • Use expertise gained while developing the new multiplexing architecture to support and educate the various engineering groups who will be impacted by the new architecture, including the teams responsible for creating multiplexing programs, electrical schematics, and other engineering designs.
  • Support and educate production facility personnel as they adapt to building vehicles with the new multiplexing architecture, including modifying multiplexing programs and guiding colleague on how to.
  • Support and educate Field Service team as they adapt to the new multiplexing architecture.
  • Create documentation as needed for the use of above-mentioned groups.
  • Provide customer-facing documentation and/or presentations as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Electrical Diploma in Engineering Technology or equivalent.
  • Five+ years of releted experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in multiplexing systems for heavy-duty on- and off-highway vehicles, electrical integration systems, and a strong understanding of CAN bus networks (e.g., SAE J1939) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 programming languages, such as ladder diagram and function block diagram is an asset.
