Job Description

Further information is available at www.mcicoach.com.POSITION SUMMARYAs the Director, Manufacturing Engineering and Facilities, you will be responsible for the performance and leadership of the Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Process Planning, Tooling and Facilities groups in all MCI manufacturing plant operations.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Leads the Manufacturing Engineeringamp; Facilities groups in all MCI manufacturing plant operations in support of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and strategic initiatives.
  • Provides a progressive, interactive, innovative and collaborative work environment to maximize our ability to work as a team and make the organization more competitive and effective.
  • Ensures that manufacturing engineering representation is in place to support the manufacturing cells in the plants.
  • Participates in the creation of the Annual Operation Plan (AOP) for the manufacturing operations.
  • Creates the annual 515 budget for all manufacturing locations including expense, training, capital, salary, indirect and in-sourcing details and monitors and adjusts spending as required to achieve the budget.
  • Develops and executes the Manufacturing Engineering and Facilities strategic roadmap initiatives.
  • Ensures change projects (Manufacturing Engineering, Facility Council and Capital) are justified, planned and executed on time and on budget, and a final report on the results (validated by finance) is provided.
  • Sets departmental goals and metrics and holds those responsible accountable for achieving them.
  • Provide direction to the departmental team to reduce waste and improve competitiveness using established lean tools including 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM’s), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), A3 problem solving methodology and others.
  • Ensures required tooling is designed, built and maintained in advance of production requirements.
  • Ensures that ECO’s are implemented, reviewed and supported through the manufacturing engineering functions and that accurate routings and standard times are ready in time for production.
  • Ensures manufacturing facilities and equipment is maintained to sustain safety and manufacturing readiness.
  • Participates on and supports the Executive Safety Committee, Manufacturing Leadership Team, Director Leadership Team and any other necessary teams and activities.
  • Provides bid protection guidance for completed and active in-sourcing activities.
  • Responsible for attending the Facility Council, including providing all required reports and presentations for all current approved projects.
  • Leads strategic change projects as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or a related field, or a combination of relevant coursework and hands-on experience.
  • A Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a management position.
  • Experience leading a team or collaborating effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to assess complex challenges, implement data-driven solutions, and drive process efficiencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with teams, leadership, and cross-functional departments.
