Job Description

Further information is available at www.newflyer.com.Position SummaryThe Engineering Lead Bus Specialist will provide direct support on the production line to resolve electrical and programming issues discovered during electrical checkout of online buses, especially lead buses. What you will do

  • Investigate and resolve electrical and programming issues encountered on the production line during electrical checkout.
  • Participate in electrical checkouts of the first bus built on each customer order (a.k.a. Lead Buses).
  • Create and release programming updates and other engineering solutions as needed.
  • Support issue resolution using J1939 network traffic analysis as needed.
  • Execute in-plant testing of electrical and programming solutions as required by colleagues.
  • Support supplier application approvals, vendor tests, config audits, and other online activities as needed.
  • Provide general status of lead buses that are online, identify and address potential roadblocks preventing deliveries.
  • Support ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience related to essential functions listed above.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and high-voltage systems.
  • Adept with Microsoft Office, PLC programming, Logger, NEXIQ / DLA and/or other related programming software tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, effectively prioritize and work efficiently in a high demanding fast-paced team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills.
