Job Description

Further information is available at www.newflyer.com.POSITION SUMMARYThe Engineering Process Control Specialist will be responsible for leading and participating in Six Sigma Red X problem solving events including collecting and analyzing of data to identify the root cause. This role, you will focus on developing and implementing process controls and engineering solutions that optimize efficiency and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead and participate in statistical problem-solving activities using the DMAIC methodology working closely with process owners and participants of the submitted problem report
  • Participate in and support engineering process improvement projects
  • Establish, and implement and actively participate accurate data collection plans for Six Sigma problem solving and process improvement events
  • Processes and analyzes collected data using statistical analysis software
  • Perform design changes when required as part of the problem solution and put in place mitigation plans for similar required design changes
  • Establish and support others in the implementation of better Process Control after the completion of processes improvement events
  • Support the creation and management of Engineering process and training documentation
RequirementsWHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Registered Technologist/Engineer or equivalent
  • Background in statistical analysis, minimum Yellow Belt certified
  • Minimum 2 years design related experience
  • Experience with Unigraphics NX, statistical analysis software and measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers etc.)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
