Are you ready to embrace the challenge Come build the future with us and apply directly to your dream job!POSITION SUMMARY:Alexander Dennis is seeking a visionary Head of Procurement to lead our sourcing and supply chain strategy across North America. This pivotal role will be at the heart of our mission, ensuring that our Las Vegas manufacturing facility receives top-quality supplies that meet our exacting standards. You’ll be the mastermind behind securing cost-effective, high-quality, and timely materials while navigating the complexities of Buy America and USMCA compliance. Join us in shaping the future of transportation and make your mark on a global stage!WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Lead a regional procurement team of commodity managers, buyers and supplier quality engineers in support of Alexnader Dennis business objectives in North America.
  • Work as part of a wider global and cross-functional team to source a range of mechanical and electrical commodities in North America from suppliers which offer ongoing improvement in quality and landed cost, meeting BOM cost reduction targets
  • Ensure all sourcing meets Buy America and UMSCA compliance and provide BOM data for external auditing as required
  • Ensure all new suppliers are audited and qualified in line with Alexander Dennis quality procedures and standards
  • Ensure all supplier business awards are made in line with Alexander Dennis selection criteria and subject to cross-functional review and approval
  • Negotiate all commercial and contract terms with new and existing suppliers
  • Manage and improve supplier performance on Cost, Quality, Deliveryamp; Innovation
  • Resolve supply constraints and support escalations with North American suppliers
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Degree qualified in suitable Engineering, Finance or Commercial subject
  • ISM/CIPS – qualified preferred
  • Procurementamp; supply management - 10 years + knowledge and experience of sourcing, commodity and supplier management in North America – ideally in transit bus or commercial vehicle automotive sectors.
  • People leadership skills – ability to lead, motivate and develop a procurement team of 6 people – commodity managers/buyers, BOM controllers, supplier quality engineers.
  • Strategic insight – extensive experience of developing commodity and sourcing strategies in North America
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation skills – previous experience and ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers to meet Alexander Dennis business objectives
  • Teamwork – ability to work effectively as part of a wider global and regional cross-functional ADL Leadership Team
  • Initiative – must be a self-starter and able to work with a high degree of independence and initiative
  • Drive, focus, resilience and ability to solve problems quickly and effectively – must have energy and a will to succeed at all times.
  • Experience of Buy America and UMSCA compliance requirements highly desirable
