Confident and authentic, we strive to be more than consultants—we are reliable partners in our clients #39; success.Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Investment/Actuarial Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the actuarial and analytical functions related to pension plans, investment portfolios, retirement products, and other related services. This position involves performing complex calculations, analyzing data, programming models, and assisting in the preparation of reports that inform strategic decision-making.You will work collaboratively with a team of actuaries, consultants, investment professionals, and pension administrators to provide valuable information and insights for our clients.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestment Reconciliation:

  • Reconciliation of custodian and investment manager data.
  • Produce and review both Monthly Reports and Quarterly Risk, Investment and Compliance Reports.
  • Quality control on monthly custodial reports.
  • Quarterly communication with current and prospective investment managers.
  • Respond to inquiries from clients and investment managers regarding data and interpretation of analytical results.
  • Interpret and communicate quantitative and qualitive data to the consultant.
  • Look back at previous investment decisions and the thought process of making the investment decision
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with consultants, investment team members, and other departments to support client engagements and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate on special projects as directed.
Qualifications and AttributesEducation: College diploma or bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (accounting, investments, business administration)Experience:
  • Previous experience in an actuarial or investments role, particularly in the retirement or pension sector, is advantageous but not required.
  • Internships or coursework related to actuarial science, pension plans, or financial analysis will be considered.
Certifications: Progress toward actuarial certification (Society of Actuaries and Canadian Institute of Actuaries) with 2+ exams passed or working towards CFA designation is preferred.Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft software programs.
  • Professional and highly organized.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Respects confidential and highly sensitive, critical information.
  • Is effective at working autonomously and can work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to operate proprietary and external software.
