Job Description

POSITION SUMMARYMCI is seeking motivated and detail-oriented engineering co-op students specializing in mechanical engineering to join our New Product Development team. As a Junior Design Engineer, you will support the design and testing of innovative motor coach components and systems. Responsibilities include CAD modeling, engineering calculations, preparation of drawings, testing support, and process documentation. Experience in automotive doors, linkages, or composite panel design is considered a valuable asset.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Use CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks) to develop and refine designs.
  • Assist in creating and releasing engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Conduct engineering calculations and research to support design decisions.
  • Prepare for and support testing activities, including data collection and analysis.
  • Collaborate with the team to improve processes and drive innovation.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Enrolled in a recognized mechanical engineering program and available for a co-op placement.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Previous experience in mechanical design through SAE involvement or work placements is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience, project management skills, and manufacturing knowledge are assets.
