Maintenance Technician - MidnightLocation: Carfair Composites - 692 Mission Street, Winnipeg, MBShift: Midnight (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM) with occasional support on Weekends!Carfair Composites is a leader in fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) design and composites technology and has dedicated team members located in facilities between Winnipeg, MB (Canada), St. Cloud, MN (USA), and Anniston, AL (USA), Wausaukee, WI (USA) and Gillett, WI (USA).Further information is available at www.carfaircomposites.com. Position Summary:As a Maintenance Technician at Carfair Composites, you will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll perform equipment maintenance and repairs, execute routine preventative maintenance, and handle general facility upkeep. Your role is vital in keeping machinery and tools in top condition, which supports efficient and uninterrupted production while contributing to a dynamic and collaborative work environment.WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair Carfair equipment and maintenance shop tools, including the installation, inspection, and repair of machinery and systems.
  • Maintenance Logs: Keep detailed and accurate maintenance logs to track all activities and ensure comprehensive records.
  • Machinery Handling: Operate hand and power tools proficiently for equipment assembly and repairs. Use hoisting and lifting devices like cranes, jacks, and forklifts as needed.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Execute routine preventative maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Operational Procedures: Utilize manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and suggest improvements for plant efficiency.
  • Coordination: Communicate effectively with supervisors and departments to coordinate maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Safety and Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment, adhering to 5S standards. Perform general plumbing maintenance and conduct routine checks on Air-Makeup and Exhaust equipment.
  • Diverse Operations: Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and bobcats as required.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL:
  • Experience and Skills: Relevant experience in maintenance or a related field is valued. Practical knowledge or hands-on experience is encouraged. Formal education or certifications are not required but will be considered an asset.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to handling maintenance challenges.
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills; basic math proficiency is helpful.
  • Licenses: A valid driver’s license is required. Training and experience in regard to operating a Forklift and/or Skid-Steer are a nice-to-have; training will be provided for the right candidate.
