Job Description

As a comprehensive manufacturer of engineered composite products, Carfair Composites supplies quality fiberglass components to the original equipment manufacturers operating in agriculture, automotive, construction, transportation, commercial, food processing, and medical industries.POSITION SUMMARY: Support all Manufacturing engineering activities and analysis related to the requirements of the assigned Carfair site. Lead/support manufacturing Engineering projects to improve production indices, support HSE initiatives, improve quality, Lean and service. WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Support all aspects of manufacturing Engineering including performing analysis, costing, forecasts, project management, quoting, CAF development and justification, presentation preparation.
  • Reviews and provides technical support to manufacturing processes and identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead/support projects and activities to improve production indices, HSE initiatives, product quality and service
  • Work with Lean resources, maintenance, production and quality to achieve targets.
  • Work with suppliers/inspectors on capital projects, facility modifications, code compliance issues
  • Work effectively as a team member to ensure goals are achieved and any remedial action is actively pursued.
  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives as they relate to site as assigned (5S, value stream mapping, set-up reduction etc.)
  • Promote an environment of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Remain current with relevant industry and production technologies in order to advance the manufacturing processes within the facility.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Engineering degree/diploma and/or related coursesamp; work experience.
  • Lean certification or applicable equivalent work experience recommended.
  • MS Office, conducting presentations.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working as an effective team player.
